yo can you teach me how to start on making music !
for me its really hard to translate an idea into fl studio !!
if you ever are working on a song, recording your process and just watching what you do would be really helpful !!

either way p sick funkin funk !!

yo fact you're even askin me that is such a compliment dude!

i def can't record my entire process as screencapping on my laptop absolutely chugs and would definitely hinder my workflow on an already slow FL Studio, but there's a few tips i can give you -

for me all my songs start with just a melody. i voice record it so i can come back to it later, i place notes into FL Keys until i get something i like, anything, and from there i change it to any instrument i think it would sound good as.
there's also the bpm, i basically just tempo tap to it playing in my head so i get it exactly in FL Studio.
that's really it as far as planning goes for me, i pretty much never go in with a specific type of song i want. i figure it out as i go along, basically. it can also obviously change mid-process, for example my last tune, Lo Hi. it originally started out in 93bpm and was supposed to be a regular song but one thing led to another as i was making it and it ended up an FNF song with Cassette Girl at 101bpm.

there's also a LOTTA trial and error, especially for finding the right instruments and sounds. that was basically THE hardest part of making stuff starting out, and still is. having a sound in mind and not being able to replicate it irl is the worst lol
i eventually found some plugins that helped a lot with that though, they have a buncha quality presets that work wonderfully - my go-to's are Sytrus (preintalled in your FL Studio), FLEX (also preinstalled), Magical 8bit Plug, Sektor Synth, and BM-Dope (hip hop drums).

n lastly i actually have every single FLP for all my songs on my GitHub! you can download em and the sounds that go with them if you think taking a peek at my messy workspace would help lol

but yeah, just a note, your first songs WILL be bad. i mean REALLY bad. but that's par for the course, don't get discouraged at all. keep at it and you WILL reach a point where you can finish making a song, listen back to it, and go "wow. this is good >:)" WITHOUT ending up hating it the next week

this quite literally.
